That got it going. I am now on /sda7 as I write this. Although this makes me wonder, could I have not just used those lines above in my menu.lst file instead of specifying the swap drive, the splash, and a specific initrd-2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop? What is the difference between doing it in a grub shell in which it did not produce the error, and doing it the way I did in menu.lst in which it did produce the error?
