Hello,
I'm posting regarding plugin support in GCC shipped with OpenSuSE 11.4. I noticed today under "gcc -v", "--disable-plugin" was passed to configure script, I was curious why the feature was disabled? I'm trying to compile a kernel with a feature that is dependent on the Plugin support that was introduced into GCC 4.5? I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right mailing list, please don't hesitate to correct me. Thanks As far as I can see, --disable-plugin isn't about gcc loadable plugins that you load with -fplugin, it's about building the gcjwebplugin
What makes you think -fplugin is disabled?
Anders Hello,
Me and a few others had came to that conclusion when we noticed --disable-plugin in the configure parameters. Kernel 2.6.32.48 with Grsec patch with CONFIG_PAX_MEMORY_STACKLEAK which is dependent on GCC 4.5 Plugin feature fails to compile with this error: "Makefile:555: *** Your gcc installation does not support plugins. If the necessary headers for plugin support are missing, they should be installed. On Debian, apt-get install gcc-<ver>-plugin-dev.. Stop.". I haven't found any corresponding package(s) for gcc-(*)-plugin available for openSuSE 11.4. I'm currently corresponding with Grsecurity on this issue.
