Please see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Changing%20the%20e-mail%20program%20used%20by%20Firefox?s=send+link&as=s for the basics & background. I'm talking about the "Send link" option from the _F_ile menu. I've experimented and this doesn't work. What I've done is set up a shell script that uses 'logger' to indicate its been invoked and then execute 'thunderbird', in place of the calls to 'thunderbird' in the instructions of the above. Its clear that this script is NOT getting executed. The script does work, I've used it manually. The path - whatever - from Firefox by whatever internal path is not executing the program filled in. I've tried this with both the Firefox from the openSuSE repository and the one downloaded Mozilla. This is currently FF 6 and TB 6, but I tried upgrading because this problem arose with FF 5 and TB 5 under KDE4.7 -- "Do not be quick to reveal judgement. Hidden judgement often is more potent.
