Hi,
I have a machine set up with opensuse 11.3. The uptime is now 10 days but I see that nearly all computing processes are slow.
For example one process that uses no I/O and does not wait but heavily computes on some data already read in only consumes 2% of the cpus.
Did anyone see similar problems?

Hi,
here is the output of top sorted by memory consumption. All the chipbench processes are cpu-bound. I wonder why 160 GB are cached while 56 GB from the processes are in swap.
I've checked with iotop. The machine is constantly swapping. I see no reason to do this. There are 160 GB in the caches that could be dropped. How can I force the machine to drop the caches and use the memory for processes again. I think here is a bug that does not do this automatically.
