mouse-over hangs are fixed in dbus 1.3x, but 1.4 is current. So as long as you can find dbus 1.3+ you will be in good shape with 4.5.1.
David, do you happen to know any of the specific issues with dbus 1.2?
It's just I've been running KDE 4.5.1 on DBUS 1.2 since the packages were released on OBS, I'd heard there may be issues but I can't say I've really noticed any problems. I'm loathe to go updating things just for the hell of it but it would be good to know what the issues are in case I run into them.
The symptoms are apparently random crashes and freezes. The cause is a lack of thread-safety in dbus <=1.2. Dolphin is heavily multithreaded so it runs into the bug frequently.
Bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208921
When openSUSE 11.3 was released, we considered including the fix as a patch to dbus 1.2 but it was deemed too risky to the rest of the apps using dbus in a way that doesn't trigger the bug.
Now that the patch has been released in dbus 1.4, I've linked dbus-1 from openSUSE Factory into KDE:Distro:Factory for openSUSE 11.3. It will take a while to hit mirrors. We'll discuss adding this to KDE:Release:45.

Looks like dbus-1.4 is now in the kde4.5 release repo, so I'm going give it a shot. https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=dbus-1&project=KDE%3ARelease%3A45 Thanks Will, Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
