In oS v11.1, neither MPlayer nor Kaffeine will play DVDs anymore. These are the reactions to trying:
In MPlayer: An attempt to start the film brings up an error b ox saying: "Failed to open ~/system/media/sr0", Full stop.
In Kaffeine: The error box says: "Can't bind info socket". Dismissing it starts the first screen of the film (before the introductory credits)m with sound that repeats every second or so ad infinitum.
What might be causing this to happen, and how to fix it?
Assuming you have libdvdcss installed, I have no idea. I gave up trying to use those long ago. I use vlc-beta from Packman.
Not only is there no libdvdcss on the system, YaST doesn't find such a package in Updates, Oss, or non-Oss. Nor does it find a libdvd* anything else. Where should this package be? Since I have viewed DVDs on this system before, libdvdcss (if that is its correct name) must have somehow been removed. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
