[07-28-10 16:01]: Updating right now Nvidia drivers to: x11-video-nvidiaG02-256.35-15.1.x86_64.rpm and nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop-256.35_2.6.31.5_0.1-14.1
I guess this will fails again, since kernel version (installed) is 2.6.31.12-0-2-desktop
I have 2.6.31.14-1 default and no problem with nvidia-256.35.
So now the question is:
WHY on earth nvidia-kmp is updated for older kernel version?
It is not needed for 2.6.31, apparently. I removed it w/o consequence.
*Apparently* is the right term, since my previous nvidia update prevented gdm to start: there was no any nvidia.ko module loaded, for this reason I added a symbolic link from /lib/modules/2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop/updates/nvidia.ko to /lib/modules/2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia/ A curiosity: what is your /etc/X11/xorg.conf "Driver" setting? I have "nvidia" here.
