1. I don't try to run KDE3 in parallel so I don't have any of the conflict issues 2. I don't try to make KDE4 behave like KDE3 Its sort of like ZEN. I accept what is and work with it rather than fight against it, and it .... just works. Oh, I have other problems, you can see my postings here, but trying to make KDE4 behave like some romanticised version of KDE3 isn't one of them. So long as you have this nasty and belligerent attitude things won't work well for you. Yes I know this is a 'machine' and should be deterministic and independent of the operator's emotions, but centuries of engineering have shown the converse.
