If you want a traditional desktop layout, then change the Desktop Activity to Plain Desktop... don't try to remove the Activity icon.
Yes, I want the traditional desktop - i.e. desktop with icons only.
So... did you change it to Plain Desktop? Or are you still trying to misuse the Activity Desktop view?
I've seen the problem you showed in the screen cap. That usually only happens on my cheap crappy intel video card. A driver issue?
Nvidia 195.
Using the open source driver or the nVidia binary? I'm using the latest nVidia binaries and I'm not seeing that problem... used to a few versions ago, but it doesn't show up anymore.
just add the Trash widget if you're using the default desktop activity layout.
I use folder view fullscreen. I just want the trash to be a desktop icon like others.
So... switch over to the old Plain Desktop view...
So.. it's a localization issue... and.. did you file a bug report?
In KDE3 you can rename any .desktop file on the desktop and its translation string for your language would be automatically updated or created (if did not exist).
KDE3 != KDE4. It works differently. Right click on the folder view that has the incorrect localization. Select Folder View Settings > Display and change it. Then.. file a bug report so the localization is corrected.
Ummm.. that's because that rectangle is part of the widget... you can't disable it.
I see. But it's ugly and completely alien if to use classical style. Besides I hate all that tranparency.
So... set your desktop to use Plain Desktop. Right Click on the Desktop > Desktop Activity Settings > Activity > Type. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
