-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a bit of a problem. I have a USB device (a SATA/IDE interface) that allows me to connect up to 2 drives in various configurations, but in order to add or change a drive I need to unmount and physically disconnect both the USB device and change the drive configuration. I would prefer to initiate this from the CLI without the need to physically disconnect the USB device. The article... http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:SUSE_Linux_Hotplug_System_Overview#Hotplug_Events seems to indicate the hwup/hwdown process as a likely route to perform this task. Unfortunately this article from 2006 is either incomplete or so out of date that the information given is useless. a) Does anyone know of any openSuSE documentation which is more current. The hotplug project site seems to be a bit broken, and in any case openSuSE have modified the process somewhat and what information I have gleaned from the project sources is not very relevant. b) Ever tried anything similar (I prefer to avoid reinventing the wheel). - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone. My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
