I guess somewhere in my dim past, I read how to convert .tar.bz to .rpm and then maybe Yast would install it.
Conversion is not done. The usual procedure is to read the instructions that come with whatever you want to install ;-) Typically, you expand the archive by using "tar" and some options on the command line, then you change to the newly created directory, and then run something in there. What? The instructions should say what. If it is a binary perhaps it is "install", if it is a source tree, then perhaps ./configure, make, make install. And as others have said, there is an rpm already prepared, so use it :-) - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
