Does anyone from you have a running Sendmail/Amavis system? I tried to configure Sendmail and Amavis (package amavisd-new) with YaST and also manually with the hints in /usr/share/doc/packages/amavisd-new/README.SuSE. I tested with openSUSE 11.2, openSUSE Factory and with SLES-11. The hints in README.SuSE seem to be outdated (see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=614316). But /usr/share/doc/packages/amavisd-new-docs/amavisd.conf-sample contains the described settings from README.SuSE ("$forward_method = undef" and "$notify_method = 'pipe:flag[...]"). The communication between always Sendmail, Amavis-Milter and Amavis hangs. In the log file /var/log/mail I get such messages Jun 15 12:40:01 mybox amavis[10838]: (!)Requesting process rundown, task exceeded allowed time during waiting for input from client Jun 15 12:40:02 mybox amavis-milter[10796]: o5FAVsfV010817: (mlfi_eom) failed to send() Sender: Broken pipe Jun 15 12:40:02 mybox amavis-milter[10796]: o5FAVsfV010817: (mlfi_eom) communication failure Jun 15 12:40:02 mybox sendmail[10817]: o5FAVsfV010817: Milter: data, reject=451 4.3.2 Please try again later Any ideas?
