It's falling down though when Ekiga is brought into the mix. It's complaining that the output audio device is busy and the user cannot hear any sound.
When multiple audio sources want to output in parallel the sound must be multiplexed. This can either be done in hardware (soundblaster is one example for that) or in software. See if you have dmix running. Dmix is the alsa software mixer and should be used if the hardware can't do the multimlexing by itself. But I'd strongly recommend that you ask on the opensuse-multimedia list as the possibility of getting help for questions like this is significantly higher than here.
