"Bill Gates logic", now that's an oxymoron! But, yes, things need to be backward compatable. Poor interface ??
Oxymoron..yeah...but can you argue w/success? 'Ultimately'? ;)
Go, Lemmings, Go! Microsoft shows the "success" of good marketing. In the 50s and 60s IBM demonstrated this too. its not about technical superiority, which neither company ever demonstrated, nor even about giving the customer what it wanted. It was about convincing the customer to buy what they offered. The could have been said about other aggressive advertisers of various eras. Consumers are herd animals. It takes a level of boredom (aka "this years GM is just last years GM without the tail fins and painted a different shade of blue") before consumers look else where. In reality, "fashion" has come to replace "innovation". -- I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty, than those attending too small a degree of it. --Thomas Jefferson (letter to Archibald Stuart, Dec. 23, 1791, on the encroachments of state governments) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
