I have several VHS tapes with Macrovision that are *no longer available* and want to convert them to DVD.
I bought a Sony all-in-one converter copier but chocks on the Macrovision.
It there a way to do this ? VLC ? MythTV ?
I've never tried using a puter to convert. Relatively inexpensive devices called video stabilizers will generally clean up VHS player output, usually good enough to be usable if not good as uncorrupted, even if not always perfect with Macrovision. Not all Macrovision is equal in impact. It also depends on the component the VHS output is sent to. Feeding it through a Betamax will often be helpful, with or without a video stabilizer inline. -- "Suppos [sic] a nation in some distant region, should take the Bible for their only law book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited. . . .
