and a few more settings. I guess that the file has to be owned by that user now. It is interesting that the upgrade process didn't take care of that.
You are right. Having set the owner.group of /etc/fetchmailrc to fetchmail.daemon, I could eventually start /etc/init.d/fetchmail.
But now, the daemon takes the mail from my ISP and deletes it there, but does not deliver it to my local computer. In other words, the mail gets LOST. So, /etc/init.d/fetchmail under SuSE 11.2 turns out a mean TRAP, and I warn everybody to use this program.
Calm yourself... I'm sure you have a configuration problem somewhere. Please post the content of the /etc/fetchmailrc file, taking good care to edit your name and password, substituting them with, for example, NAME PASSWORD. Then, have a carefull look at the log files. Start with /var/log/mail. My guess is that there you will find out what has happened with your mail. If you can't read them, post them here, edited if you prefer (but say so), or better upload them to pastbin, if they are big, so that we can have a look. Or mail them to me in private if you prefer.
Unfortunately, the openSuSE support refuses any help in fetchmail problems. So, I actually do not know what to do, but I still have a computer with SuSE 10.1, which I can use for mailing...
I don't know what support you are talking of. At most, what they have for the bought DVD is installation support for a "typical" install. The real support is this mail list, or the forums. That's all, and we are the best ;-) - -- Saludos Carlos E.
