Is there a straigtforward guide to setting up CUPS in an opensuse 11.0 environment that I can follow?
Simply use YaST, let it do the job for you.
I fear with the old YaST printer module up to openSUSE 11.0 the setup is actually neither easy nor user-friendly.
In contrast the new YaST printer module since openSUSE 11.1 provides two items "Printing via Network" (for client systems) and "Share Printers" (for the server) which should (hopefully) provide a much easier way to do it.
For more information regarding YaST printer setup, see http://en.opensuse.org/YaST/Development/Printer_Enhancement
