Has anyone else run into the problem of burning DVD's? K9copy, Dvd95, and XDVDShrink - ALL - lock up the system tighter than a crabs butt - on ALL systems I've tried it on!! All boxen are 64-bit and updated 11.2. ALL have codecs and libdvdcss.

In this scenario I would first look at basic drive functionality with wodim. The --scanbus and --devices switches are useful here. i.e use... wodim --devices at the command line. Then a wodim dev=<device id> -prcap using the devices designation returned by the --devices version of the command. This would help identify whether there is a low level issue, or a problem with one of the drivers common to those apps. Also one thing which usually causes a bit of grief is having DVD/CD automounting enabled when copying or burning DVD/CD images. Make sure this feature is disabled. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
