[opensuse] How to connect to network through DSL?

Hello, Recently, I neet to connect network through DSL, I configure username and password, but I don't how to connect through it. There is no any prompt in system tray of the DSL connection i configured. It can connect to network through wlan, eth, but i don't know how to connect through dsl. Another question, my computer will turn off display( not sleep or hibernate) after long time idle, then, how to awake it, which shortcut is? My linux is open suse 11.2, KDE.
