Hello, I'm trying to setup openSuSE 11.1 as a guest in VirtualBox 3.0.6 - the host is Mac OS Snow Leopard/10.6 if it matters. When I performed the initial install, the graphics configuration automatically selected 16 bit and 800x600. I tried to change it to 1024x768 but the installer told me the framebuffer could not handle that size (I forget the exact error). So I finished the install in 800x600. Then I tried to run Sax2 thinking maybe it would be better able to make changes then the installer. However when I try to pick a different size in framebuffer mode, after I choose Test the whole screen goes really weird, it kind of breaks up in little sections that are all scrambled and if I move my mouse around it scrambles them even more. It's hard to explain, but it's totally unusable - I can't even see where the Cancel button is. I'm thinking that the Framebuffer mode is the problem, but I don't know how to tell Sax2 to use an X11 driver instead - or if there even is an X11 driver for VirtualBox. So my question is, does anybody know how to get a larger resolution than 800x600 in a openSuSE VirtualBox guest? And my other question is, is it possible to use something other than framebuffer graphics - and how? I tried 11.0 also, but it locks up constantly. 11.1 hasn't locked up on me yet. sax2 -p shows: Chip: 0 is -> VESA Framebuffer Graphics 00:02:0 0x80ee 0xbeef PCI fbdev lspci shows: 00:02:0 VGA compatible controller: InnoTek Systemberatung GmbH VirtualBox Graphics Adapter Thanks, JW -- ---------------------- System Administrator - Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
