Today the network went down for the whole building. After about 1/2 hour people were able to use the internet again. So was I on my wireless laptop but I am still isolated on my wire (Ethernet) desktop. Both systems are running Linux/SuSE ..... Someone here suggested that Linux looses sone network infor which is written in a /etc system file whenever the network service is interrupted abruptly. Is that true ? I tried to reboot but nothing changed. Why the wireless system has not been affected ? How can I retrieve the lost piece of data ?
Perhaps the building network configuration has changed. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
