Is there any way to get some more intelligent naming for repos in the YaST package manager? (openSUSE 11.1, KDE 4.3.1)
No. But you can easily change the repo-files in /etc/zypp/repos.d. You need to change the string inside the [] in the first line, I think it's called 'alias' in zypper.
OK, I can do it :-) but... this question originally came from a new user who was trying to understand the repo list stuff.. and trying to understand why some apps were shown in red in his package manager. I don't want to try and walk him through that. He'll have to wait for the Bugfix (if it's accepted and fixed). So, the info is known and there... it's the alias that is meaningless... eg repo_12 for the openSUSE Buildservice Mailserver repository. Time to go poking about in repo.d I guess.
