I've just configured our printer on an 11.1 installation. It prints fine but the duplex isn't available in firefox, though it is from the adobe plugin. I installed the printer with YaST, though I'm not entirely sure I've done it right because it's very confusing. It's a HP 4650dn connected as socket://cpelpr210-1.lmb.internal:9100 and the driver is "HP Color LaserJet 4650 Postscript (recommended)" - though there seem to be two with that name, so I don't know which is installed (manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp_color_Laserjet_4650-ps.ppd.gz or manufacturer-PPDs/hp/hp_color_Laserjet_4650.ppd.gz) In "All Options for the Current Driver" I set HPOptionDuplexer/DuplexUnit to be True and Duplex/2Sided Printing to DuplexNoTumble [ It's annoying that I can't copy the text from the widget BTW, and annoying that it moves the focus back to the top of the panel whenever I click on anything, but I guess that will improve ] But the HPOptionDuplexer/DuplexUnit is set to false after I close the "All Options for the Current Driver" panel and reopen it. When I print PDF documents from the Adobe plugin for Firefox, they print duplexed (the printer itself is set to duplex by default) and the Adobe print dialog shows "Printer Options" "Duplex Printing" "Long-edged Binding". But when I print HTML pages from Firefox itself, they print single-sided. The print dialog "Page Setup" tab "Two-sided" option is blank and only has one choice "One Sided". All software is from the standard 11.1 repositories.
