Hi, I just reinstalled opensuse 11.1, but I'm experiencing various problems with vpnc: -the command line file keeps on asking me username and password although they are correctly specified in the .conf file: ## generated by pcf2vpnc IPSec ID MYGROUP IPSec gateway 10.0.0.2 IPSec secret MYPASSWORD IKE Authmode psk ## To add your username and password, ## use the following lines: # Xauth username <your username> # Xauth password <your password> the file mode is 0600. ********************************************************************************** The packages I installed are: nico2:~ # rpm -qa | grep -i vpnc kvpnc-0.9.0-1.89 NetworkManager-vpnc-gnome-0.7.0.r4274-1.19 vpnc-0.5.1-6.50 NetworkManager-vpnc-kde4-0.7-9.5 NetworkManager-vpnc-0.7.0.r4274-1.19 BUT -in kde4 networkmanager doesn't permit to add or edit VPN connections -in gnome networkmanager can import .pcf files and edit the settings, but the connection doesn't work. In the log I can read: Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> Starting VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.vpnc'... Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.vpnc' started (org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.vpnc ), PID 7939 Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.vpnc' just appeared, activating connections Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin state changed: 3 Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN connection 'VPN2' (Connect) reply received. Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin failed: 1 Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin state changed: 6 Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin state change reason: 0 Aug 28 15:55:14 nico2 NetworkManager: <WARN> connection_state_changed(): Could not process the request because no VPN connection was active . ************************************************************************************ Finally, and totally OT, where the hell can I tell kde4 to show in the panel only the windows active in the current desktop? I can't absolutely find the option. Thanks, Nico -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
