I have found that some web sites, particularly ones that include GoogleMaps, for In any version of Firefox, will if left 'online' long enough, leak enough memory to \ cause swap memory to start being used. What I am suggesting is that while Firefox may be ultimately at fault, the problem is possibly induced by particular websites. What is common to the sites I have discovered so far that cause this is that they 1) autorefresh and 2) use a feature called 'rapidfire', which continually forces updates to maps/radar/satellite, etc images to the display. It seems that the memory used to hold previous images is >not ever released cleanly. I have NOT tried to see if the same thing happens in Konqueror because I depend on the Firefox addins (adblock mostly) that I haven't >seen duplicated in Konq.
I checked the "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" under advanced/general. It really irritates me to see pages constantly reloading like every minute. It's mostly for ads, and I use flashblock/noscript for that crap. I also noticed that all my custom settings disappeared since I updated to 3.5, so I guess it didn't move my settings from 3.0.x.
