Well, I did the move, the dns propagate and all should be good.
However... not completely
just for test purpose (I read it on gmane), I subscribed to opensuse list for kim2.dodin.org, but now I had to change the mydomain to didon.org (without kim2) and I don't receive the mails to kim2 anymore
how can I receive the mails for subdomains?
There are two parts: DNS configuration: an external client will look up the domain part of the email address and first check, if an mx record for the domain has been set. If no mx record exists then an a record will be sufficient. Should neither be available then mail for the (sub-)domain is not deliverable. Postfix configuration: To make Postfix accept mail for a domain it has to be in one of the four domain classes of Postfix: - mydestination (valid recipients are checked in passwd/alias_maps) - relay_domains (valid recipients are checked in relay_recipient_maps) - virtual_alias_domains (valid recipients are in virtual_alias_maps) - virtual_mailbox_domains (recipients are in virtual_mailbox_domains) Addditionally, subdomains are accepted if the domain is part of the maps in parent_domain_matches_subdomains. The content of this can be checked with the postconf command: postconf parent_domain_matches_subdomains DNS resolution for your domain seems a bit troubled at the moment. dig could not find the authorative nameserver of your domain. Only when I checked whois and queried that nameserver directly did I get the desired results. Those seem to be correct. Give it a bit of time, then it should work (at least as far as dns resolution is concerned). -- Sandy List replies only please!
