After installed OpenSuSE 11.0 I immediately dumped my installation DVD thinking I no longer need them 'cos I should be able to pull needed packages from online.
Bad move! The DVD doubles as repair media, for example. I never get rid of it, even if I dissable it.
First software I want to install is Opera, my preferred browser. In "Software Management" I choose Opera and "install", then it tells me the DVD is not accessible. Since I already dumped the DVD, I go to "Software repositories" and disabled the DVD source, leaving the online oss and online non-oss enabled, thinking the package manager will pull from online instead. Then I go to "Software Management", surprisingly find the opera package could not be found. Search for Opear package returns 0 results.
Post the result of "zypper lr" on a terminal. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
