How did you initially obtain the opensuse software? Did you purchase the DVD? or download online? My issue is that my target machine is offline and it is a 32 bit machine.
Online I have only been able to download the gnome or kde 32 bit version on one cd and I am trying to locate the rpm associated with the gcc.gcc-c++ package. The gcc package(s) is not visable via yast.
I've downloaded the DVD. I don't know if the compiler is provided in the live CDs, but I think it isn't, because the available space is very limited in this media. Install these repositories, if they're not already installed: http://en.opensuse.org/Package_Repositories And maybe some of the additional repositories if they interest you: http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories And then install the packages with yast.
