Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this problem I am having. It started 2 or 3
days ago, never happened before then.

I am running openSUSE 11, with KDE 4.1.3 (fully up to date). My soundcard is
listed as a Intel ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller. The module
snd_hda_intel gets loaded for this card, and that works just fine.

My problem happens fairly often, is a majoy annoyance and I have no idea how
to fix it. When I log into KDE, there is sound and everything works fine.
However, if I play a flash movie in Firefox for instance, my sound will be
gone after that, at least until I close Firefox. It doesn't always come back,
though. Sometimes, the only way to fix it, is to log out and back in.
My sound can also fail when trying to watch a movie (not flash, but a DVD).

Is there someone who could help me troubleshoot this issue, please? I don't
know where to start, frankly.

Regards,

Joop
