Hi,
I'm trying to setup KDE 4.2 on my PC @ work. I could not activating
the desktop effect. I have a checked 3D acceleration on Sax2 but I
always got error message while activating KDE 4 Desktop Effect :
"Failed to activate desktop effects using the given configuration
options. Settings will be reverted to their previous values.
Check your X configuration. You may also consider changing advanced
options, especially changing the compositing type."
I also try the suggestion as describe here :
http://websvn.kde.org/*checkout*/trunk/KDE/kdebase/workspace/kwin/COMPOSITE_...
but it still failed.
