The MBR sits in the same physical sector as the partition table. A bad
program could destroy one while writing the other. Maybe it wrote a
default MBR code.

I would hope that 11.1 isn't a 'bad program' however <g>!! Seems like the
might be some sort of a problem with the partition tool?

1. what did you use as boot manager grub?

2. how did you create new partitions? what program did you use?

3. just boot from a live cd

# fdisk -l

and post it.
