Subject: [opensuse] ssh question

I'm trying to setup ssh on two systems. I want to remote in to one
system from another.

On the "host" system I have SSH running...

linux-ld60:/home/daniel # /etc/init.d/sshd restart
Shutting down SSH daemon done
Starting SSH daemon done

On the other system, I try to connect. However, i get nowhere.

kai@xwing:~/apps> ping 192.168.0.102

2 packets transmitted, 2 received, 0% packet loss, time 999ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.192/3.428/5.665/2.237 ms
kai@xwing:~/apps> ssh -Y -l kai 192.168.0.102
ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.102 port 22: Connection timed out
xwing:/home/kai/apps #

Ideas?

Since you don't say "and I opened port 22 in the firewall" I suspect
you didn't. In that case, your firewall is blocking the connection.

Doh!

Thanks, that did the trick.

kai@xwing:~/apps> ssh -Y -l kai 192.168.0.102
