How do I diagnose network issues? I have a laptop running Intel Wifi 2200 b/g and connect both at work over cable (100bt) and at home over wifi. I'm running 10.3/KDE 3.5x. I use networkmanager for setting up the network and have KNetworkmanager running in the system tray. I have a static IP at home and a dynamic IP at work. After being at home Friday through Sunday, I got to work and was unable to get a connection for whatever reason. I got in the console, switched to root and typed dhclient. I was then on the network. Just now, I got home from work and fired up my laptop. After loading KDE, I was given the "starting connection." However - and this happens all the time - I was connnected not to my network but a neighbor's network. In fact, I could not connect at all, no matter whether I chose the network in the list (I had to enable broadcasting my ssid) or typing it. It would always go back to the other network. Only after a reboot could I connect. Two questions. 1. How do I diagnose this and view what is happening? 2. How do I fix this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
