o Which clients did you try?
Evolution, Kmail, and Thunderbird
Pine sent the email out, but only after adding dsl.verizon.net as the user domain, but then it adds that to the email address, and that's wrong. I don't have to do that to any other email client.
o Did you use the same smtp server as in outlook?
Yes I did. From what I can ascertain from Verizon's web site and horrible tech support, there is no special authentication or anything needed. Just uses port 25.
Verizon blocks port 25 when it's being used by an MTA such as postfix or sendmail. I'm wondering if there isn't a special setting for KMail and the others for this to work. I would make sure you don't have to send to some address like smtp.verizon.net or the like. And don't let the Linux clients use localhost unless your pf or sendmail conf uses their smtp server as it's smarthost for relaying. -ben -- XO Communications St Louis, MO. -- "A cog in the big state machine." -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
