Unfortunately I forgot to explain the real scenario, why I could not / can not use wget. It came to my mind after I had sent my post.
I write the package mirror to DVDs. I would like to download new packages into a different directory than the older packages are located in. Then I could write the new packages directly to DVD. Wget can not do this.
What I can do now is to make a copy of the mirror I have, use wget to download new packages into one of the copies, then compare the two mirrors and remove old packages from one of the mirrors. Then I have new packages only in a different directory. This procedure is very painful and requires 2 times more hard disk space. I would like to do this in some other way but I don't know how I could.
