That should be the update configuration error, not "zypper dup".
I'm not sure if "zypper dup" can edit the files in /etc/pam.d/ to prevent this problem. I think it just leaves there the config.rpmnew files and that's it. I don't know yet wether upgrading from the DVD has this problem or not. The fact is, people are complaining that zypper dup of 11.0 to 11.1 leaves the system unusable because of that problem - whatever the cause is. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
