This behavior started some days ago, and appears only occasionally. When it does, everything looks normal until the first time I move the mouse. At this point, the cursor is no longer visible; when I move the mouse about, the display shows that the invisible cursor is acting as though I am clicking on everything that the cursor passes over. Obviously the usual ways to shut down and try again are not available, even Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing, and the only way out is to turn off the main switch. So far, rebooting brings back a normal desktop; twice now the panel has been moved from the bottom of the screen to the right side, which is easy to fix. Just now however, the result has been that the panel has disappeared altogether and is nowhere to be found. This is serious, because, among other things, I am unable to access any of the other virtual desktops. I have delayed reporting this behavior until now because I was trying to gain some insight into it; I wish I had not waited so long, and reported it and asked for the help of this forum a couple of days earlier. What might be causing this, and what can I do to eliminate the problem? How can I recover or reconstruct the panel? -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
