Hello friends. There is much to be said for opensuse 11.1. However, there is one major fault which I have not discovered how to remedy: When installing RPM's, the installations fail. Here is what I do: I get the file I want to install, place it in a folder, then I double-click on the RPM in Konqueror, and choose to install it with Yast. I become root and Yast starts, seemingly to install. Then, I get an error message that reads like this: "Following packages haven't been found on the medium:..." But the file in question is there, I just clicked on it in a folder on my own hard drive! There are two other messages: "Initialize the Target System" "Load the Configured Repositories" I do not understand the latter message. I do not want a "repository." I want to install RPM files from wherever I want on my hard drive, and do not need any repository in order to do that. I have also tried Kpackage, but then I invariably get this message: "Login Problem: Please login manually" I could not understand that message either. I have not succeeded in installing a single RPM with Kpackage. What is necessary to do in order to be able to click on a RPM and install it from Yast the way I did with 10.3 and 11.0?
