continuing with my oS 11.1 saga, i finished installing oS 11.1 x86_64 on a gateway MX7120 laptop, and rebooted. i let the system boot normally, after which i ended up with a blank screen and a non-responsive system. i powered down, powered back up, same thing. i then booted to failsafe and got to a graphical desktop just fine. rebooted, let it boot normally and, once again, ended up with an unresponsive system and a dark screen. thoughts? and what is "failsafe", anyway? obviously, there is a difference between failsafe and a normal boot that's causing this system to hang. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
