And also did you see if there was any option in the menu to put the phone into USB Mass Storage mode? I have never used the model you mention, but I have seen in some phone such an option.
Sorry forgot to answer last question. The phone has setup option for either modem or mass storage and I've tried both options and switching phone on and off with usb connected. I've plugged a nokia in with no problems before.
I don't have the exact model but on mine it defaults to being a modem when plugged in. There's a menu option to switch to mass storage. I find it necessary to go to the menu, switch to mass storage, save the setting, then plug in the USB cable and then it works. What's annoying is that despite saving the setting, it goes back to modem default when the phone is switched off. Grrr! Oh, and the other thing that may get you. The device that mounts is the SD card I've added to the phone, not the built-in phone memory. So I have to copy photos etc before trying to transfer them. All in all, not as smooth as I had hoped.
