These are some of my observations..
Timesync is essential.
DNS is essential, the winbox must know of the linux box in its DNS.
In the AD, the linuxbox must be known as a PREWIN2000 box.
I also made sure the linuxbox knows of the winbox by its name. Made an entry into /etc/hosts.
I then used YaST, Users, authentication and the SAMBA way. Finally, the winbox accepted domain membership - and hence users could log on to the linux box.
I could post my pam files and other setup files to the list if you like?
I'm about to embark on this same adventure starting tomorrow, when I change my server from Server 2008 to SuSE 11.1 (dual boot, at first). I'd surely appreciate seeing anything that might help. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
