Hello,
I was using a Zyxel 650/HW to connect a laptop Acer Ferrari 4000; this hardware uses a chip Broadcom BCM4318 [AirForceOne 54g] for wireless connection; then I changed router (to enable WPA encryption) and tryed Fritz!Box/WLAN 7270, change configuration with Yast (but using again the WEP for encryption) aaccordingly to router's one, but I'm now unable to connect with the web; however the network is correctly detected, as iwlist wlan0 scanning gives a correct result, ping 192.168.1.1 answers correctly, but for exemple ping www.yahoo.com gives no result. Anf this change cause no problem with another laptop ACER TM660 both on Suse10 and Windows XP but the chip for Wireless connection is Centrino
Why it is not possible to perform this change with Broadcom card while it is possible with Centrino??? Thank you in advance for suggestions
Cheers Michel
Did you say you're using WEP, while the router is configured for WPA? If so, you'll never get a connection.
