Hello,
Has anyone had success joining their Linux machine (I'm testing with SuSE 10.3)to an Windows AD?
I've been able to join 10.3 to an AD domain in the past.
In the past I've been able to join to an NT domain without difficulty, however this is the first time I've tried connecting to an AD. Was using Yast to join to the domain, but perhaps that is not the best method.
You don't say what errors are reported when you try to join or what the symptoms of the failure are. The most obvious thing is that timesync is vitally important in AD environments, so that is always the first place to look. You can also do some testing with the net command on the command line - this will frequently provide a lot of troubleshooting information as to why it's failing. And of course, for AD, DNS is another place to start looking. Are you simply looking to join the AD domain, or use AD as an authentication source also (slightly more complicated, but also achievable without too much work).
