All,
I'm having troubles with office docs that live on a SAMBA share.
As of a week or two ago, some (most? all?) of the docs I edit won't allow me to update them because they are claimed to be read-only.
ls -l does not show that.
I can work with local docs based on my limited tests. (most of the docs I need to edit are on shares).
I'm running OO 3.0 (build 3.0.0.3.5), I think from the OBS stable repository.
Any ideas, Greg
Greg,
Post your /etc/samba/smb.conf and post an ls -al of your samba directory structure for the directories that are read only. For example, my base samba share is /home/samba. For that, I would need to see an ls -al of the /home directory showing just the samba directory file permissions, and then the ls -al listing of /home/samba.

I upgraded to build 3.0.0.3.6 from the build service, and the file that was problematic yesterday is working fine today. If / When it happens again I post a follow-up to the above. FYI: I do suspect there is something fishy with my Samba / CIFS setup. This is the second time I've had some sort of issue that seems unique to my samba shares. The first time was with 10.3 about a year ago. I connect to my shares via cifs more or less permanently via /etc/fstab mount entries. But it could also be a bug in OOo that I trigger somehow, because getting a new build resolved my problem last time as well. I did the whole bugzilla thing and had a suse person trying to help me when the problem just went away after a "unrelated security release".
