Listmates,
Tonights updates of xorg-fonts, jasper, hal and mozilla fail repeatedly with error dialog box messages about missing files to the screen. However, the files are actually in the update repository and the files are actually downloaded to your computer -- they update just partially fails. After the first failure, the dialogs all concerned xorg. Of course with everything going to the qt or gtk crud dialogs (or whatever they are), there is no way to copy the text of the error dialogs to share with the list, so I just took screenshots. Each screenshot is of a separate dialog window error message. The original update listing of files is 54k, the remainder are about 12k. (so much for a 60 byte copy of the text from the error). The list of updates tonight were:

<snip>
This likely is again the transient error where the metadata is appearing faster on servers than the RPMs. It should go away in some hours, run "zypper refresh".
Ciao, Marcus
Marcus, list, I understand the metadata problem. However, the issue is that I'm seeing more and more frequently and not just with the 'updates' but also will all packages. Today there were probably 25-40 files in Buildservice/Java: that failed with the following error: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/yast/more-pkg-not-found.pn... In addition to the java issue, the entire gcc repo vanished: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/tools:/gcc/openSUSE_11.0, it still gone... Probably moved and I missed the notice.... In the past, using my every few days update policy, I would go for months never running into the advance metadata issue, not I can't hardly update of load packages without something causing errors with yast or zypper.
