Can it be that configuring the AR42x802.11 abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter in openSUSE 11.0 influences the card in such way that Wifi cannot be started in Vista?
I have a four year old IBM ThinkPad with the Intel Pro WiFi 2100 card. When I bought it, Windows XP and OpenSuSE Linux played well together as long as I always did a shutdown and boot to switch operating systems. Switching while suspended caused filesystem corruptions on both sides. However as I have updated the OSes, Windows is increasingly likely to crash or refuse to boot when the WiFi is active. Friends with feet in both camps report that this is increasing in frequency. My solution is VMware, I am about to stop booting Windows natively under normal circumstances and run Linux always with Windows when I really need a Windows program that will not run under Wine/Crossover Office, e.g., Turbo Tax.
