Will we also be able to use zypper dup from 10.3? 10.2?
Yes, but serious dragons may appear ;)
Is there a zypper version for 10.2 that is actually able to do "zypper dup"? I'm currently in the process of updating several XEN domU's from Suse 10.0 to 11.0 and I decided to update version to version 10.0 to 10.1 - easy - Yast->System update, some clean ups - ok 10.1 to 10.2 - the same 10.2 to 10.3 - pure hell - 10.3 dvd is not recognized as installation source for "System update" in yast and immediatly disabled - booting 10.3 installer from DVD is - say an adventure - at least when you can't do a fully virtualized boot on the system - it crashes when there is an XFS filesystem near, it does not recognize an ISO image given as CDROM as installation source (had to copy the contents to a virtual hard disc) ... 10.3 to 11.0 - via zypper should be ok - I did it for some "real" systems and don't expect too much problems. So yes - a working zypper version for 10.2 would be great. Any hints?
