yes, you can update ooo via yast. be sure to uninstall ooo first, don't just update it, as you will have both 2.4 and 3 on your system. you will then have to go and reinstall all the features you uninstalled earlier. there are some features that you will have to manually uninstall, so set yast to packages, click on office and make sure that all of the components are checked for deinstallation. when you reinstall ooo, be sure to check upstream branding from the build site, also, be sure that you have the ooo build site in your repos.
This would equate to other packages too ie Thunderbird, Firefox, except the base packages for which I'll purchjase a new DVD.
you can update firefox as long as you have the mozilla build site in your repos as well. since thunderbird doesn't come pre-installed it will be up to date when you install it, again, as long as you have the mozilla build site in your repos. if there is upstream branding from mozilla, be sure that is checked too. cheers, dwain -- Dwain Alford "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
