I don't know about Thunderbird, but Firefox is just stand alone application packaged as tar.gz archive. Unpack it in subdirectory of user home, find and run 'firefox'. When unhappy delete subdirectory with Firefox, and application data in ~/.mozilla/firefox and application is gone. This is better that other tar.gz archives containing only source code, that has to be compiled, which is not for first time users, and can overwrite existing system files during installation, producing all kind of problems, as you mentioned. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
