Listmates,
I hope you can help me with sharing a printer with a Vista (yeah, I know LOL) machine. This is occuring both on Suse 10.3 and 11.0 - I can print from windows with no problem yet when I try to look at the print queue it says access denied. Looks like maybe I somehow have the queue set up as write only but I didn't intend to!
any ideas?
thanks
Its a little vague where the printer is attached. I presume to a linux machine?
You have to set up your user (the one you attach to the printer from vista with) as an administrator for that printer. You can do that with yast, or by pointing a web browser on your linux machine to localhost:631
From Steve: Refer to the message from John Andersen, he said: You have to set up your user (the one you attach to the printer from vista with) As an administrator for that printer. You can do that with yast, or by Pointing a web browser on your Linux machine to localhost:631 I can't see where in either Yast or the CUPS web interface to do that but I think he is on the right track. On a hunch, I created a user named root on my Windows machine and that user has no problem looking at the queue! Please format this info as you see fit and drop it onto the list and see what comes of it... </end> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
